StoryWork International has created the Story Intelligence Institute to fulfill its mission.

PURPOSE

The purpose of the Story Intelligence Institute is 1) To apply the power of story to multifaceted disciplines and curricula, and 2) To provide a platform for a host of unique outward-facing offerings to the business community. Our focus is on:

• Advancing and promoting a world where people, communities, organizations, institutions, and countries foster cooperative relationships; 
• Developing and offering workplace and organizational models that fully engage peoples' callings, gifts, and talents; 
• Enhancing healing environments in healthcare; 
• Elevating the desire and potential for learning in education; 
• Enabling insights and pathways for building inclusivity and unity; and,
• Expanding our understanding of the multifaceted potential of the human spirit when it is awakened, aware, and inspired.

To align people and communities with the narratives that elevate possibilities and potential and bring them to life. The Institute is beginning the process of conducting research on the application of the powers of story, storytelling, and story sharing to be disseminated to the world.

THE WORK OF THE STORY INTELLIGENCE INSTITUTE 

Convene: Bring together thought leaders from around the world from a range of disciplines to brainstorm, innovate, and imagine ways story can enhance and elevate work in their field, including education, business, government, conflict resolution, health care, economic justice, journalism, law enforcement, etc. Out of these conversations would come white papers, blogs, and other media made available to the world through a host of electronic media.

Public Conferences: Our five-year plan is to host educational conferences open to the broader public to explore the applications of story, storytelling, and story sharing regarding challenges and opportunities, both locally and globally.

Research: Conducting cutting-edge research that demonstrates and illuminates the efficacy of story intelligence, storytelling, and story sharing in various fields.

Demonstration Projects: We're currently exploring how to translate concepts and ideas into real-world applications to develop models and efficacy trials. Those projects that prove successful will be spun off into the for-profit sector through either licensing or the creation of new companies to capitalize on the new IP.

Media: Just as Joseph Campbell’s work was socialized with a broader community through the seminal interviews he did with Bill Moyers, SQI is doing the same with current thinkers in the field. These interviews are currently available on the web and our plan is to broadcast them through more conventional media outlets such as PBS and cable networks.

Publishing: Supporting the work of thought leaders to write and publish new works in the field.

Workshops: Focused on the direct application of the theory of Story Intelligence to real-world practice.

Speaking: Leaders from SQI are available as spokespeople and ambassadors for the power of story.
